While you are here, check out this practical online training session focusing on rope set up and knots for forest school sessions.

Anything you put up outdoors is only temporary, and fiddling with knots in the rain to take tarps down is no fun!

Learn more efficient ways to get your kit up and down.

In this recorded, hands-on online training, Jon will show you some efficient ways of using knots that are easy to untie afterwards.

They are especially good for tensioning rope, for example in making a rope bridge between two trees or for slinging a tarp up. You’ll be able to follow along at home, pausing the video and getting confident in your knot tying.

You’ll also receive a quick reference crib sheet for four easy low ropes set ups that you can use with your new knot knowledge in your setting.

To make the most of the session, you'll want to have the following with you while you watch so you can follow along:

A length of thin cord about a meter long (paracord would be ideal but other rope will do as long as it not too thick)

Something to tie your rope too, like the legs of small upturned table or chair!

This is the recording of a training session that was taught live in August 2023. The video is just over an hour.
